I have a dream like every other Indian student here does – to study, to gain permanent residency and to make my family proud. But the reality is, I am seen as a cash cow. I enrolled into a masters program thinking I am going to be rewarded with a permanent residency at the end of it. Immigration regulations are changing frequently and graphic design as a profession has been removed from the skilled occupations list, which makes me not eligible to apply for a permanent migration visa. Although, I have learned much more than just gain a visa I hoped for the reward. I dare dream.
